Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an accepted or attending student pursuing a seminary degree at an accredited educational institution

  • have a connection to an Alabama CBF congregation

  • request your institution email or mail us a statement that you are currently in good academic standing or have been accepted in good academic standing


The amount of the scholarship varies each year based on donations to the scholarship fund and the number of applicants. All students must reapply each year. We also ask that students who are awarded scholarships participate in the life of Alabama CBF in at least one way during the year that they are Humphreys Scholars: attend events such as our Fall Gathering, our Alabama State Meeting at the General Assembly, or volunteer with one of our youth events; or, scholars may write an article for our e-news or newsletter about their calling to ministry or their involvement in CBF.

Notification

All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by July 31, 2025.

Confidentiality

Please be assured that the information provided in this application will not be discussed in any forum other than the determination of scholarship funds. There will be no discussion of any personal information outside of the Educational Scholarship Committee and no discussion beyond what is necessary to determine scholarship recipients and award amounts.
