AlabamaCBF budgets a limited amount of money each year to be available as venture grant funds. These funds are intended to be an investment in sustainable projects that support the mission of AlabamaCBF. Eligibility: Any non-profit organization based in Alabama, non-profit organization working in Alabama or Christian individual residing in Alabama is eligible to apply for a Venture Grant.
General Expectations: Venture Grants are intended to be used to invest in beginning a sustainable venture that needs financial help getting started, or a capital project that will provide long-term benefit for a partner organization.
Priorities: AlabamaCBF wishes to support projects that are aligned with at least one of our two major initiatives: Partnership Missions and Building Community.
Restrictions: Venture Grants will not be awarded to fund the cost of an individual’s participation in a mission trip.
Proposal Requirements: The applicant must fill out the AlabamaCBF Venture Grant Application form and submit it to the AlabamaCBF office.
Review Process: The AlabamaCBF Coordinating Council meets three times a year. Venture Grant applications will be reviewed at the meeting following the receiving of the application. The grant may be approved by a majority vote of the Council.
Grant Requirements: - Grant recipients must expend award funds according to the specific plans outlined in their proposals. Funds may not be expended for generally related purposes. - A written report must be submitted to the AlabamaCBF Coordinating Council within one year after the grant is awarded telling of the impact of the project. - The Coordinating Council requests that the grant recipient write an article for an AlabamaCBF publication describing the project, and/or visit AlabamaCBF churches or gatherings to give presentations on the project.
NOTE: DUE TO BUDGET LIMITATIONS, ALABAMACBF WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPROVE ANY VENTURE GRANTS IN 2010. WE HOPE TO RESUME THE APPROVAL OF VENTURE GRANTS IN 2011.
