Associate Coordinator - Lucas Dorion

The Coordinating Council of Alabama CBF is excited to announce on April 14, 2014, the hiring of Lucas Dorion as their new Associate Coordinator.

"We are excited to welcome Lucas to our Alabama CBF team," said Terri Byrd, Coordinator of Alabama CBF. "Lucas brings a depth of experience in ministry, but also, skills unique to the challenge of networking and mission coordinating that will be a part of his ministry with us."

Reverend Lucas Dorion grew up in Pensacola, FL, where his family still resides. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry at the church where he grew up, Northridge Church, in June of 2001.

Lucas is a graduate of Samford University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Congregational Studies. He also earned a minor in Philosophy. In 2004, Lucas received his Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Lucas has served several churches, including Southside Baptist in downtown Birmingham and Riverchase Baptist in Hoover, AL. Most recently, he was the Associate Pastor for Families with Children and Youth at College Park Baptist in Orlando, FL. Lucas has also worked with ALCBF in the past as the Interim Volunteer Coordinator for Sowing Seeds of Hope.

"Lucas has an energetic and willing spirit which will undoubtedly inspire the same in others with whom he will be working as Associate Coordinator. I have the feeling that no task will be too menial to be considered important or too great to be considered possible where Lucas and Alabama CBF are concerned," shared Mary An Wilson, moderator of ALCBF and pastor of Woodland Forest Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa.

Lucas is married to Emily, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who works in the Emergency Department of Children's Hospital of Alabama. Lucas and Emily have been married since 2004 and have two children. Their son, Nash, was born in 2008 and their daughter, Sarah Cate, joined the family in late 2013. Lucas enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, camping and binge watching shows on Netflix.
